Worcester Historical Society Open House

Dear Friends,

This is to inform you that our open house on December 3 was a great success. Many existing members, new members, corporate sponsors, benefactors and local folks showed up to participate. The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the two, restored murals donated by the new owners of the Roy Schweiker estate. The murals are 4×8 feet painted by John Peirce in 1958. If you go to the following link you will find pictures of the murals as well as other items of interest. Among the photos you will see the beautiful Christmas tree donated by the Bustard Family. Although we are closed for the winter we are organizing our usual end of March Speaker Presentation. Stay tuned for more info concerning this event as well as our annual antique/flea market the first Saturday in May.

Finally, if you are looking for a Christmas present this season we have decided to put the Dutchie Pew up for sale. This pew was recently reconstituted by local, Worcester craftsman Brad Smith of Bradford Woodworking. The wood is Elm and over 100 years old. It would look great by the Christmas tree to open presents. The price is a tax deductible $500 which includes a brand new, “Worcester Book”. Please call 610-316-7287 if you would like more information including pictures.
